Ross Wilson is one of the true legends of Australian music.He is a performer, songwriter and producer par excellence. He has influenced the direction of Australian music for over 40 years. Forming Daddy Cool, producing Skyhooks, writing Touch of Paradise for John Farnham. Just some of the landmarks Ross has been involved with.
Starting in the mid 60’s, Ross eventually formed the legendary band Daddy Cool.Their number one anthem Eagle Rock smashed all previous sales records in Australia. The song was very influential, Elton John being a great admirer.
He than started Mondo Rock, delivering hits such as Cool World, State of The Heart, Chemistry, No Time, and Come said The Boy. This was all before Ross left to pursue a solo career. The 1989 release of Dark Side of the Man spawned the hit Bed of Nails, recently used as the theme to Bed of Roses.
Artists as diverse as Jimmy Barnes, Def FX, Custard, Jennifer Rush, Troy Cassar-Daley, You Am I, Renee Geyer, and Christine Anu have covered his songs. The Wiggles version of Eagle Rock again topped the charts in July 2008!.
