We are so lucky to have an abundance of A-grade Aussie musicians who have pumped out numerous hit songs over the years such as; AC/DC, Russell Morris, Ross Wilson, Paul Kelly, The Black Sorrows, Daryl Braithwaite, INXS, Cold Chisel, Tex Perkins, Tim Rogers, Adalita, Missy Higgins…..just to name a few! However, so often we resort to following big overseas acts when all we need to do is look in our own backyards at the array of talent on offer. Also, we mustn’t forget all the wonderful A-grade tribute acts out there too who are rockin’ it like the real thing; INXSive, AC/DSHE and Gold Chisel!
From Blues to Punk Rock, Australia without doubt has some of the best musicians in the world and more often than not, you will always find a live gig to enjoy your favourite genre of music. Venues such as the SATELLITE LOUNGE and THE FLYING SAUCER CLUB in Melbourne take pride in hosting gigs that showcase all sorts of Aussie talent doing what they do best, playing live music! Although small, these venues ultimately support the Australian live music culture and have even given up and coming artists a chance to showcase their music early in their careers such as ARIA award winner COURTNEY BARNETT for example.
